Hi
My hospital has recently started to use the Y -type blood plumset. The set comes with a 210 micron filter. Is this an ordinary blood filter or a leucocyte reduction filter. Hassan hasn't used one of these so far but could tomorrow when he goes in for tx.
thank you

Maha,
Did you find the answer? I'd like to know also.

No Andy. But the micron filter is used when infusing WBC'S also, so it probably doesn't filter them. Hassan did use one yesterday but I will try and find something before his next tx.

Hassan had his tx yesterday. Actually the micron filter does'nt filter leukocytes, so the doctor requests for leukocyte reduced PRBC's and the blood is filtered at the lab itself.
