Hi mate,

Yes, there are home hemoglobin testing kits. You can find them online. If you purchase one, make sure it tests hemoglobin and not HbA1C.

tx andy!
Did you read my advice about SQUID on Ferriscan section?
-
Sorry Andy...then people use this home kit without blood sample?
-
Andy,
Because of Lil A's hemoglobin issue I wouldn't mind purchasing a home hemoglobin test - have you heard about their reliability?
Thanks,
Sharmin

This particular device has been tested by NIH and found to be very accurate. It does require a pin prick blood sample.

You might want to try checking medical supply houses for a hemoglobin analyzer. It's difficult for me to search for what is sold in each nation, so I can't be of much help finding devices by country.

Hello! i don't test my Hb after transfussion. When I was a child I went every 3 weeks for transfussion and that was all. I remember having blood test after the transfussion when I was 5 but it was not very usefull because it was actually too soon to know the Hb so they didn't do it anymore. And now, I still have my transfussion every 3 weeks but it does depend on Hb so if I feel like I can't wait for the transfussion, I go before my date and if I go and my Hb is too high (which is not very usual), we delay the transfussion depending on the Hb.
I used to use this kind of machines that you ask for because in Spain we have them at the chemistry but it wasn't always accurate so I decided not to use it anymore and ask the hospital for a test when I don't feel ok.
Best wishes,
Laura
