Title: ESR Blood test

H does anyone know if thal would cause an ESR blood test to be high due to the low HB?

Hi Joanne,

Yes, there is a direct correlation between Hb level and esr results. Anemia leads to a higher esr, so if your Hb drops, your esr will rise. It also rises with age and infection/inflammation.

I have a strange problem. Even when i' struggling with very high fever and infection, my CBC, ESR, CRP, etc, all tests  come out normal. No one has a clue why.
