what is your height now, your parents height?
in modern science we have read that after 21 years of age its rare that height may increase as epiphysial plates of long bones gets clossed,
in few cases i have seen height increase even after that but in thals i cant assure, only Andy sir may clarify,
your name sounds Indian , i am practicing in bhopal , if you can come there we may try Acupressure which was fruitful in few cases.

mayb growth hormone therapy is the answer .... i would like to hear thalpal experties opinion about it because i alos want to increase my height ;) ..

No.
In case of females the bone gets defuse at 18 or before that. So after 18 body can not expand bones so it means height can not increase.
In thals the biological age stay behind of cronological age , so there is some chance of increasing height after 18. But at 24, in case of Females it is not possible.

Further to what Hanumant has said,
People can grown until their grown plates have fused. An x ray of the hand can help physician's assess what stage of growth a person is at. A person will grow until they have reached an adult bone age.
In thalassemia because of constantly low or fluctuation hemoglobin levels bone age may be delayed, therefore your bone age (and other physiological development) may be delayed. With optimal nutrition and maintaining good hemoglobin levels and low iron levels most thals will reach their genetic growth potential.
It is important to keep iron levels low because high iron levels can accumulate in the pituitary gland and other hormone producing glands resulting in low pubertal hormone levels which can prevent adequate growth and normal development. Antioxidants, by binding with the destructive free iron, will also be protective.
High iron levels can also interfere with other endocrine function resulting in diabeties, thyroid problems etc. So chelation is essential for many many reasons.
I hope this response is helpful,
Sharmin

Recent research has shown that vitamin B-12 is essential for bone growth. This was not previously known. Any regimen for the bones should include B-12, in the sublingual (under the tongue) form if possible.

Thank you Andy, I was giving lil A B complex for many years - but lately I haven't been. I will look into sublingual B12 for him. I am seeing changes in him daily and I hope he reaches a good adult height and health development.
For parents of young thals - there is a lot you can do to promote health growth and development in your children.

Sublingual B-12 is so easy to take and can be so helpful. I've been amazed at what has been learned in recent years about the need for B-12. It's far beyond what was previously understood.
