Hi Katerina,

There is a post about the nutritional needs of thal majors at

http://www.thalassemiapatientsandfriends.com/index.php/topic,5190.msg48860.html#msg48860
These can be used as a general guideline.

When pregnant, there are some things that are very important.
Folate in the form of L-methylfolate 5 mg daily.
Natural vitamin E 400 IU daily
Vitamin B-12  2000 mcg daily, best taken as a sublingual (under the tongue) tablet
Vitamin D  2000-5000 IU daily depending on how much sunshine you get. If you can't get much sun, the higher dose is needed.
