Hi Kathy,
Thanks so much for asking about me. I am fine, but have been very busy. You know how they say trouble comes in threes, well, we've had 3 things happen in a short amount of time that have been a little challenging.
First, a giant, old Chinese elm tree in our yard fell toward our house, and actually put a hole in our second story roof, and did some other damage. The hole was only a about a foot wide. Luckily, no one was home at the time. Then, I got extremely ill with the flu, and was in the hospital for fluids, just for 2 days.   :puke  Then, someone blew a stop sign, and crashed into the passenger side of my daughter's car. She was lucky that she only hurt her knee a little, and the other person was hurt a little, but OK. Our car can be fixed (it is a Jeep and is pretty sturdy), but the other car was wrecked.   :sadnope
So, nothing horrendously terrible, but pretty annoying and stressful. Hopefully, things will settle down here, and we will be able to enjoy Thanksgiving.  :food
Kathy, you didn't know what you were getting into when you asked how I was doing! I know you are dealing with some serious health issues, and I hope things are going Ok for you. I think about you often. Love, Jean

CARROTS, EGGS, COFFEE...... This is just too great not to pass on....You will never look at a cup of coffee the same way again... A young woman went to her mother and told her about her life and how things were so hard for her. She did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. She was tired of fighting and struggling. It seemed as one problem was solved, a new one arose.
Her mother took her to the kitchen. She filled three pots with water and placed each on a high fire. Soon the pots came to boil. In the first she placed carrots, in the second she placed eggs, and in the last she placed ground coffee beans. She let them sit and boil, without saying a word. In about twenty minutes she turned off the burners.

She fished the carrots out and placed them in a bowl. She pulled the eggs out and placed them in a bowl. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. Turning to her daughter, she asked, "Tell me what you see." "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied.

Her mother brought her closer and asked her to feel the carrots. She did and noted that they were soft. The mother then asked the daughter to take an egg and break it. After pulling off the shell, she observed the hard boiled egg. Finally, the mother asked the daughter to sip the coffee. The daughter smiled as she tasted its rich aroma. The daughter then asked, "What does it mean, mother?"

Her mother explained that each of these objects had faced the same adversity - boiling water. Each reacted differently. The carrot went in strong, hard, and unrelenting. However, after being subjected to the boiling water, it softened and became weak. The egg had been fragile. Its thin outer shell had protected its liquid interior, but after sitting through the boiling water, its inside became hardened. The ground coffee beans were unique, however. After they were in the boiling water, they had changed the water.

"Which are you?" she asked her daughter. "When adversity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean?"

Think of this: Which am I? Am I the carrot that seems strong, but with pain and adversity do I wilt and become soft and lose my strength?

Am I the egg that starts with a malleable heart, but changes with the heat? Did I have a fluid spirit, but after a death, a breakup, a financial hardship or some other trial, have I become hardened and stiff? Does my shell look the same, but on the inside am I bitter and tough with a stiff spirit and hardened heart?

Or am I like the coffee bean? The bean actually changes the hot water, the very circumstance that brings the pain. When the water gets hot, it releases the fragrance and flavor. If you are like the bean, when things are at their worst, you get better and change the situation around you. When the hour is the darkest and trials are their greatest, do you elevate yourself to another level? How do you handle adversity? Are you a carrot, an egg or a coffee bean? May you have enough happiness to make you sweet, enough trials to make you strong, enough sorrow to keep you human and enough hope to make you happy. The happiest of people don't necessarily have the best of everything; they just make the most of everything that comes along their way. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past; you can't go forward in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.

When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life so at the end, you're the one who is smiling and everyone around you is crying.

You might want to send this message to those people who mean something to you); to those who have touched your life in one way or another; to those who make you smile when you really need it; to those who make you see the brighter side of things when you are really down; to those whose friendship you appreciate; to those who are so meaningful in your life. If you don't send it, you will just miss out on the opportunity to brighten someone's day with this message! May we all be COFFEE.

Come on everyone

Find out who you are. I found out that i am chocolate icing on chocolate cake.  :rotfl :rotfl

Remember no cheating and tell me who you are

Manal

Dessert Test

No cheating. If all of the desserts listed below were sitting in front of you, which would you choose? Pick your dessert, and then look to see what psychiatrists think about you! After taking this dessert personality test, send this e-mail on to others and send it to the person who sent it to you!

Sorry you can only pick one:

Angel Food Cake

Brownies

Lemon Meringue Pie

Vanilla Cake with Chocolate Icing

Strawberry Short Cake

Chocolate Icing on Chocolate Cake

Ice Cream

Carrot Cake

And NO, you can't change your mind once you scroll down, so think carefully what your choice will be!

OK - Now that you've made your choice, this is what psychiatric research says about you:

ANGEL FOOD CAKE:

Sweet, loving, cuddly. You love all warm and fuzzy items. A little nutty at times. Sometimes you need an ice cream cone at the end of the day. Others perceive you as being childlike and immature at times.

BROWNIES:
You are adventurous, love new ideas, and are a champion of underdogs and a slayer of dragons. When tempers flare up, you whip out your saber. You are always the oddball with a unique sense of humor and direction. You tend to be very loyal.

LEMON MERINGUE PIE:

Smooth, sexy, and articulate with your hands, you are an excellent after-dinner speaker and a good teacher. But don't try to talk and chew gum at the same time. A bit of a diva at times, but you have many good friends.

VANILLA CAKE WITH CHOCOLATE ICING:

Fun loving, sassy, humorous. Not very grounded in life. Very indecisive and lack motivation. Everyone enjoys being around you. You are a practical joker. Others should be cautious in making you mad. However, you are a friend for life.

STRAWBERRY SHORTCAKE:

Romantic, warm, loving. You care about other people and can be counted on in a pinch! You also tend to melt. You can be overly emotional at times. And sometimes can be annoying.

CHOCOLATE ICING ON CHOCOLATE CAKE:

Sexy; always ready to give and receive. Very adventurous, ambitious, and passionate. You can appear to have a cold exterior but are warm on the inside. Not afraid to take chances. Will not settle for anything average in life. Love to laugh.

ICE CREAM:

You like sports, whether it is baseball, football, basketball, or soccer. If you could, you would like to participate, but you enjoy watching sports. You don't like to give up the remote control. You tend to be self-centered and high maintenance.

CARROT CAKE:

You are a very fun loving person, who likes to laugh. You are fun to be with. People like to hang out with you. You are a very warm hearted person and a little quirky at times. You have many loyal friends.

I don't know about most of these deserts ??? But, I'd try lemon pie if I had to choose among them. Lets see what it says:

Hey,  That was a great story, Kathy, and so true. Sometimes we lose our perspective on life, or we get really down, but now I will think of the story!
Manal,
I love strawberry shortcake, but I also love carrot cake equally as much. Maybe I'm a combo. Now I'm getting hungry for dessert! I'll have to wait for Thanksgiving, which is only 2 days away. Thanks for the fun stuff. :clap  love, Jean

To every one,
I would like to share these few words with everyone and I wish it brings us all hope.
 :smile :smile :smile :smile

When you come to the edge of all the light you know, and are about to step off into darkness of the unknown,
faith is knowing one of two things will happen.
There will be something solid to stand on, or you will be taught how to fly.

Hello everyone.
I would like to share with you.
I have  watched the movie called "The secret"by Bob Proctor.
I think is the most powerfull learning for me and personally I'm sure it will change my perception of my life ,for the best.

I'm feeling much better within myself since I started a course of Natural Salmon oil and Folic acid.I have more energy and I feel optimistic in my out look in general.
I wish you all goodluck and a day with less or no pain.
I sincerely care for you all .
