Thalassemia Patients and Friends

Hi all
I have just come from Ahmad's doctor. His bilirubin decreased 1.2 and the measurment of his spleen and liver also decreased than last month. This all means that hemolysis decreased.
At the same time his Ret.count increased, it was 5.2% and became 9.5%, this indicates that hemolysis increased. His HB was 6.4 last month and now it is 6.6
How come these two contradicting results???
Anybody got any idea???????????
