Title: Blood test results
Post by: JRomero on February 24, 2018, 08:57:00 PM
Hi all

I've received my blood test results (attached) and would be very grateful for any advice anyone can provide. The results do not mean too much to me so any supplements or food anyone can recommend to counter-balance anything abnormal in the results would be fantastic.

Thanks very much in advance.

Your Hb is slightly low, making you mildly anemic, and this typically is not helped by iron in thal minors. Your vitamin D is towards the low end of acceptable and it can help to raise it higher. Make sure you check out the nutritional advice for thal minors at http://www.thalassemiapatientsandfriends.com/index.php/topic,4890.msg46774.html#msg46774
B12, natural vitamin E and magnesium can all help with red blood cell production and quality of RBC's. L-carnitine also becomes more important as you age.
