Hello
I was hoping someone might be able to help me with my blood test results. I don't have a Thalassemia diagnosis yet but I have been getting the same results for years despite being given iron supplements by the doctor and I'm starting to wonder if its not iron deficiency anemia, but have been worrying myself between Thalassemia and polyecthemia vera. Is anyone able to help interpret these?
I've been previously diagnosed with secondary hypothyroidism with a TSH around the 1 mark and a below range T4 and T3. I am now on thyroxine for this.
I have symptoms too which I'm not sure could be related. Exhaustion/tiredness, memory loss, right flank pain, pain around the area of the spleen although the doctor doesn't think its enlarged, headaches (particularly on movement), dizziness, fainting, palpitations, breathlessness, constant nausea, abdominal pain, gas, constipation, poor ability to exercise.

The numbers are borderline for thal minor. It could also be an iron issue, as some of those numbers are on the low side. I don't think you'll get a definitive answer without further testing. Has a hemoglobin electrophoresis test been done?
