Title: Skin discoloration
Post by: Danny.H on August 22, 2018, 12:14:23 AM
Hello my thal friends .
I have a question any one of you have been dealing with any type of skin issues?
Well not jaundice but some kind of skin discoloration in whatever part of the body.
I noticed  about the time I had complications like gall bladder removal  and having from adrenal fatigue to fibromyalgia and food allergies  I developed a strange rash inside of forearms and at the top of my feet. I showed my primary doctor that thought that it would be just dry skin . It was one of my almost unnoticeable problems so we left it alone. As I started hormone therapy last year with a hormone specialist I noticed the rash went away from my forearms but still on my feet in a more disguised form. As I started this year feeling empowered and went back to the gymn I noticed that the discoloration started to spread on to my ankles direction and legs. I went to my primary doctor yesterday thinking maybe I should go back to the hormone specialist but he thinks it is atlets  feet  ... it just doesn't look like it and doesn't itch like it either. I know Im slacking on my vitamins B,Dand E  it probably will improve my skin appearance but Im also wondering if this is related to my thalassemia.

Can you describe what the rash looks like or attach a photo of it?

Hello Andy,
Thank you for helping me to log in back . I have some pics I hope you are able to see .this is my left foot. I hurt myself cleaning up the yard so the area a bit darker is a scrape That is healed. It looks a bit darker .I have done on the right foot too but is in a smaller area.

I can't see it well enough in the images, other than to see there is a slight discoloration.

It is very suttle but it doesn't go away for a long time  and I went to the doctor because we never know. The doctor wants me to take Lamisil . He didn't really told me the name but I got in my chart that he called it tenia. I'm not completely convinced  I need to take such a harmful medication over it. I'm getting my vitamins protocol first getting strong and if it still bugging me maybe I give a try but as I read all side effects of the medication I'm in no hurry.

Lamisil is a topical ointment. I don't think it poses any danger and within a couple weeks, you should be able to tell if it is helping. I have used lamisil myself in the past.
