Title: Jadenu
Post by: vampirebaby on November 18, 2020, 03:30:36 AM
Hello,

What are your thoughts on Jadenu vs exjade? I understand it’s more palatable but what about the other effects? Are they similar to exjade? My daughter had many side effects from exjade use such as excessive calcium excretion, altered LFTs, severe GI symptoms which  eventually led to an intestinal perforation.

Would Jadenu be safe for use for someone who reacted so severely to Exjade or best to stay clear from this class of Chelators?

Thank you kindly.

Jadenu is the same drug as Exjade, but with less fillers. The effects are very similar for most people. Keep in mind that the dosing is about 2/3 of the dosing for Exjade, so less mg are required. I would suggest starting with a low dose, so you can monitor side effects. Take it slow and see if she can tolerate the drug. I would suggest taking it after meals to lessen the side effects.
