Title: Why Members Can No Longer See The Member List

We've been asked a few times why members can no longer see the member list and an explanation is due.

Awhile ago, we had a man join our group under the name of Harrison Ford, and he went through the entire member list and sent every member a pornographic message that offended everyone. We were all quite shocked that someone would do such a horrible thing to a support group, but some online research found that this same person had done this to many different online forums and the only thing in common was that the member list was accessible.

As a result of this, Danielle and I decided that the only way to prevent this in the future would be to hide the member list. Members can still view each other's profiles but they cannot scroll through a list of members. We both thought it was a shame to have to do this but there was no other way to prevent a recurrence of that type of obscene behavior. Of course anyone can view a profile by clicking on a member's name next to their posts, but we do not want to make it easy to simply scroll through the member list and spam each member.

If anyone wants to find a member, please let Danielle or I know and we will be happy to show you that person's profile. We apologize for the inconvenience but there is no other way to protect the members from what is extremely offensive behavior.

 Andy am agree with you  :thumbsup but i suggest for example if there is spicial code o secret numper the members who have 4 stars they can use it and i think i descused with ya a bout this before ....

Khalifa, it can be done, but Andy and I don't see anything good coming from any members viewing the member list.  If someone wanted to abuse the privilege, they could always just increase their post count to view it, and it wouldn't be fair to just select members who we know wouldn't abuse it. So, it's just better that we keep it private, for the security of all our members.  Your safety is one of our number one priorities.  :)

Do you want to know it ?   :biggrin    ok   i start dreem that am in the middel and you on my right hand and Andy on my left hand with black sun classes on both of you and also with machine Gun with both of you to protect me from criminal PpL   :rotfl  ..
     ok i like that  :wink i have bad flue now and my wife asking me what going on you loughing like crazy ...she told me you are alier you are not sick you make your self sick to run a way from the house ...LOL   :rotfl
