Hi !!

Just wanted to know if someone doesnt have the facility of HB electrophoresis test, then in children upto what age (maximum), can one expect Thal Intermaedia to be diagnosed (if ofcourse he/she has Thal Inter).

Hello Ginni

Sometimes it can take as long as  20 years to show the symptoms. I hv heard abt cases of thal intermedia who were diagnoised in their 20's.
