It has been mainly treated with hydroxyurea. The new "drug" is Endari which is used to reduce severe complications that some patients get has just been approved by the FDA. This "drug" is Glutamine which is not a drug and can be purchased easily from vitamin sellers without a prescription. It is an amino acid, just like L-carntine and Glutathione. All have use in blood disorders and all are easily available. Don't get fooled by Big Pharma into paying too much for a cheap common supplement.
