Title: That gave me hope
Post by: Manal on January 07, 2007, 02:18:15 AM
Last week, i was watching the inside edition and they were talking about an american girl that had aplastic anemia for many years, done several transfusions, took dozons of medicnes and male hormones( that completly changed her face and appearence) to stimulate the bone marrow to try to work again. Her case was deteriorating from the side effects and  her only hope was a BMT and she got a donor and everything was organized. Two weeks before the transplant, her bone marrow worked, every single thing in her body became normal again. All her CBCs were totally normal. No one could ever explained how did it happen. No doctor claimed he ever saw a case like that, but it happened and the girl went back home and after a while her appearance was back to the girly look she had before. I guess that this is a miricale, but the program showed us the girl before, during and after the disease. It is very comforting to watch things like that.
So i guess you do your best and leave the rest for GOD.
I wanted to share what i watched with you all

Hello All,

I suggest not to give any religious examples, religion to me is a private matter and sometimes cruel debates can happen.

Hi Canadian Family,

There's nothing wrong with this example. It can relate to any religion; that all you need is to have faith, that one day your prayers will be answered.

Take care, Peace!

I do think we have to have some tolerance when it comes to religion. People have many different beliefs and some believe there is no God at all. But we can also have reasonable discourse to which no one should take offense. I don't think a general suggestion to have faith in God should offend, even to those who do not believe in God.

I do have some guidelines that I follow when it comes to religious matters. When someone speaks of their faith, there is no problem. However, when one tries to proselytize and tells others they should believe their religion, that post will be deleted. I have done it before at MSN and felt that no matter how strongly the member believed that we should all follow their beliefs, I would not allow the post, as many would be offended by being told they should follow another's beliefs. Also, when things become inflammatory as they did with the Mumbai bombing thread, I feel that as administrators, Danielle and I have an obligation to step in and calm things down.

I hope we can remember the spirit in which these posts were made and accept that those posting have a strong faith that God's will must be accepted, and that we can accept their faith without it troubling us. As much as I question God's plan for my own life, in the end I have to accept what happens. I may never understand what and why and why everything has to be so difficult for people, but when my mind finds peace I see that it is always God's plan that has been at work, whether I agree with the immediate results or not. If in your life you don't have this belief or regardless of what beliefs you do have, I hope that in our forum people can feel free to express their own faith without criticism.

I do also feel that there is, as Canadian Family has pointed out, the potential for things to get out of hand, but I hope you all know that Danielle and I will do everything we can to keep this family together and step in where needed. I have never seen where arguments about religion have been productive in any setting, and I think we should refrain from it here. Have some faith that people joined for a common purpose can find ways to get along.

I absolutely agree, Andy.   :thumbsup

Everyone is entitled to their own religious beliefs, and are able to state them in this forum, as long as they don't try to push it on others.  Unfortunately, religion is one of those topics that tend to get heated, so as long as you guys can respect the beliefs of one another, the discussion will go smoothly.  If not, then we will have no choice but to lock the thread.   :(  We don't want you guys to argue.   :sadnope

So sad this post took another direction.

It's ok, Manal.  Not everyone is going to agree with everything that someone posts.  It's not the original poster's fault for that, especially when that wasn't their intention.   :hug

Khalifa,

I don't understand what concerns anyone had about your post either, as the whole point was simply that each person prays in his own way. It's nothing for anyone to lose any sleep over. I seriously hope you will reconsider as the managers of this site are not who upset you and we both think you're a great guy and the best dad, and your input in this site has been very valuable and your humor is second to none.

As your big brother I'm gonna say to just relax and let it go. I am sure this is a simple misunderstanding and that no offense was meant. Chill  :cold

Hi everyone,

The reason I like this web-site is because we all seems to accept each other and support each other with good intention.
from time to time we agree to disagree like any disfunctional family,
Lets bygone be bygone, focus our eneygy on the most important issues here, its our children and our health, and the bond of friendship.
Please lets not waste our precious time on petty things .
We are family and the love for one another is our motto.

" What do we live for if its not to make life less difficult to each other."by George Eliot

I apologize for anyone I have offended, but it was certainly not my intent as such.

My earlier comments were CERTAINLY NOT against the religion, I myself is a deep religious person, I respect religious people and their opinion. The only reason I said because I had seen it before and I just cautioned it, one classic example is my simple post and it got out of hand.

There was nothing wrong to what was said or in a example, I think I was taken wrong.

Khalifa dear, I like what you say, so don't feel bad.

Rest assured I guess I am pardoned, AM I??????

Canadian Family,

I was quite sure what your motives were as we have had the situation get out of hand before and I know all you were asking is that we don't let that happen again and I agree.

I hope everyone will always remember that with so many different nationalities represented here, that sometimes there may be communication problems, so I hope people will refrain from jumping to conclusions.   :hug?

Thanks God everyone is happy now.   At some time i felt guilty that i started this post, but when i post any thing in this site i really don't think of what i am writing or how other takes it because i really consider you my big family so i just right what ever comes in my mind. Of course one should consider other nationalities like Andy said, . But to be in the safe side, i want to declare that what ever i might write in the future is not meant to offend anyone or doesn't have any bad intentions at any level.
Anyway as dear khalifa said, its time to party.
