 did u mean before breakfast ?? fasting ?? or after a few hour to breakfast but a little before lunch ....

Liver function tests are most accurate after fasting, so first thing in the morning will give the truest results.

I m patient of major thalasssemia  if u don’t mind I m asking some about some problems
   
Andy my iron level is 5530 ng/ml  and I was using exjade tablets 20000mg per day from 16

months  my weight is 56kg and my HCV is positive my ALT(SGPT) is 400 U/l

My doctor was advise me about Desferal and Ferriprox combination he says leave exjad and start this combination .
I was start my therapy butt my subcutaneous sites  was swelling with deferral.

Before 2 year my subcutaneous therapy good is butt now i have very pain and very bad swelling the site is become red rashes .
Because my skin is very  thick and fat I m using thalaset 10mm butt that is not working

Cane give me some advise about my subcutaneous problem.

Because I m very worry for my iron

Hi Rehman,

Have you tried different sites for the needle like the thigh and upper arm? Changing the infusion site is important so the sites have time to heal. I also asked my experienced adviser and was told about a topical ointment called Thrombophob. It comes as a gel or cream and can be rubbed on the needle wound once the bleeding has stopped and it's sealed over (maybe 30 minutes). This will help to soften the skin. Using Emla cream before the needle insertion can also help to numb the area to make the needle pain less.

What is your Ferriprox dosage?

i was try all sites butt not working

my ferriprox dose is 11 tablets per day

and my sub_Q Desferal is 2.5G

rehman jaani no problem .... lower ur desferal concentration .that is  add 1g in 15 ml and let it go for 10hours instead of 7... inshALLAh u'll feel comfort ... and i wud like to tell u that i nearly ALWAYS hav swelling and reddish area on subq site.... and that lttle ithching brings me a joy  ..anyhow no problem brother its just a minor thing..im used to it and hope u'll get it too ,,,also u can try distilled water of another company and always make sure u've mixed desferal completely in water by shaking it way tooo much....

imy chelation plan since january 5th .. here it is ...
Ferriprox = 9 tablets a day
Desferal = 2 with Tx only

good thing is ... when ur iron will come's under 1000 then u'll find best results with less hard work .....

Thank you all for ur replies  ..  I'm also feeling very good to see my report.. if i look back in past when my Fe was 13002 it was looking imposible that one day it wud b withing ( almost within ) the normal range ..  , i never had thought that of it .... its special blessings of almighty ALLAH (God) that m here with u , with a super gr8 Fe report.. not only Fe my LFT report is also almost withing normal range , i will post LFT report in another thread that is for liver ....... thanx to all of u who always been there for me , with me , to encourage me to keep going , to push me forward towards this goal , who i'll must say bared me n my long posts lolzzz , who always helped me to stand-up and dust-off shoulders to start the journey again whenever i felt down ..... thank u alll .. i dont have enough words to finely say u guyz thanx as it must b ... i must want to say here that thalpal is my another home and its also my another thal center .... i cant forget the time i passed on this forum in my whole life ... i was living without friends , n life was soo meaningless without friends ..  this is where i got/found true N sincere friends..................... hey .. hey..hey .. it doesn't mean that i'm leaving this forum :D , i will keep eating ur brain, guyz :P lolzz.... so , dont b happy that ur brains r safe .. i love to eat inteligent brains ,so, b ready :D ....
