I agree with Andy, you shouldn't worry about the test results right now - especially because they were good in January.  They will probably be better next month.

I am glad to know that you are taking vitamin e.

Sharmin,
Sorry for late reply , i dont know how i missed this thread ...  yeah, i got to understand that i can't make the difference/change in my reports by worrying/concerning about it..  So, it would best to take it easy, dont worry about the reports iand look for the next test , i m planing to have another CBC ( as its sugested to keep WBC  record while taking Ferriprox,  for this purpose i would like to ave CBC again ) before my next Tx probably expected in the end of march or 1/2 april ... .... hope that will b finer than this one ...

It is not relevant to this case, but I went through my results of trombo's of this last year. I don't know of it makes sense when I saw that I had high trombo's when my fe was high. Now that it has dropped, my trombo's has been dropped too. There are almost in the normal ranges. Is it coincidence?

Ok, confession: I haven't take my supplements for a month  :scratch :thumbdown :imsorry

I don't think the platelets themselves would affect serum ferritin readings, but the reason for there being more platelets might.
Andy

All we are saying is give thals a chance.

Umair,

Are you at least taking L1?  You should never be without chelation for more than 48 hours, that is when the iron causes the most damage in your body.  Please be sure that you are at least taking L1 and IP6 when you are without desferal.  The free iron in your body needs to be binding to something at all times.

This is one good thing about exjade, it remains in your body for 24hrs.  I know that in your case exjade may not be an option at this time - but please ensure that a chelator and IP6 are on board!

Sharmin,
Thanx for your concern, ....
yeah, i m taking Ferriprox 3 tabs thrice a day ... i will resume Desferal very soon, actully i don't buy Desferals to my City , i buy desferals from Lahore when-ever i need , i usualy buy desferal while returning after visiting my doc's clinic , soo i m waiting for next appointment, there is no fault doctor, its my own fault coze of watt we are getting late to visit her clinic ... i hope to manage to go to Lahore if this friday is free of any party or anything that keep us busy with other issues ( like time and weather last time we post poned visit bcoze of stormy rainy weather otherwise everything was ready ).... onething , i m taking Ferriprox more than 100mg/kg ( i heard that 100mg/kg is highest dose ) yeah, my weight is 42-43kg and i m taking 9 tabs of 500mg, my doc reduced the no# of my tablet to 9-8 a couple of months ago , i dont know why i didn't apply that reduction in Ferriprox ... does it matter to alevate SGPT and other things that come's under LFT ... yeah, i do have IP6 in my Cabin/Cupboard waiting for NOC to start it as my doctor given me NOC but condition was wait for stomach to settle down first ... soo waiting for stopmach and her permision to start ....

Glad to know that Umair,

When you do start IP6 you can start with a smaller dose and work your way up.  I think that it will have many benefits for you.
