Liver Biopsy vs SQUID

Hi, how are your holiday? :party

I want to tell you a story about my doct.  After MID exam (experimentl), that find a LIC high (1900mcg/g), she decided for a biopsy... she don't know very well a SQUID.

The next week, I phone to a hospital with SQUID and ask about it and about an appointment.
After many telephone calls to my doct and Squid center, She decide for this. I'm happy because i don't make a biopsy, but I ungry because she don't know :mad

                 am wondaring you are in italy and looking for sombody to make for you a biopsy ??? :huh :huh :huh :huh
                am from state of kuwait and am just before 6 month i came from italy and i made for son an BMT in TORVERGATA OSPIDALY under care of Prof.leucarally and Dr. Paola Polchi who she made thye biopsy for my son ..
           come on just pay 50 euro to the taxi and go to TORVERGATA hospital 9 floor andf ask for Prof.leucarally...

Thanks for info, but I have just an appointment to Hospital S.Anna in Torino (http://www.talassemicitorino.it/pagina.asp?sezione=59)

I complained myself of the fact that the doctor wanted to make the biopsy

Hi Vincenzo,

The squid test will give a far more accurate view of your liver iron concentrations than a biopsy will, and also won't involve any needles or risk. Let us know what the results are.

SQUID: Superconductive Quantum Interference Device

It's a non invasive method (without making a biopsy) to mesure iron quantity  in liver comparable to an MRI.
