What's your ferritin level?

The ferritin level should be measured at least once a year I believe for thal major's.

Mine is 1600 right now, which isn't good, since it was only 800 last year.  I only skip Desferal a couple of times a week, but I really need to do it 7 days a week.  I need to get moving.   :(

Hello to all,

Well I dont agree that ferritin levels should be taken every year...Here in sydney australia we have our ferritin levels taken either every month or every three months...

Mine at the moment is sitting on 500 which is very good...I am aiming to dropping it lower...

sometihngs in your countries must working better......
my ferr.level ist allways about 10.-16.000
many many years ago i had level in the dimension of 4-8.000
but 800!!!!   that must be a dream come trought...

Can you tell me what you are doing for chelation these days? Is it desferal and how much and how often do you take it.

things are going very complikated...
since 1999 i had a port a caht and do desferal in very hight dose
but now my doc will start me in exjade...i stopt desferal now
i am waiting dayly for her call...

Do me a favour and dont stop your desferal untill your doctor calls you please....You can still put your pump on and wait for her or him to call you...Its important that you still wear it..while waiting...

After reading all your ferritin levels, I'm too embaressed to reveal mine...
I'm trying! I really am! I can't take L1 so my only saviour is Desferal which is... so diffucult to comply with... but I am trying! I am!
