Pre-transfusion hb 9 or 10

In Melbourne they never allow the Hb to drop below 10 for the exact reasons mentioned above particularly in kids as they're growth suffers when all the body's resources go towards an over working BM. In other parts of the world though they transfuse at a lesser Hb to preserve blood as much as possible & in doing so people are chronically under transfused.
