T @ r ! Q:
I am back to Karachi. What started as a full of fun and masti trip turned out to be a scary one. While on our way to lahore in train, one of our companion thal Naveed had severe nose bleeding which scared the crap out of us. Doctor from another center who was also in same train helped us out. Well then, bleeding stopped somehow, and we reached lahore and were directly taken for inauguration session of conference. That inauguration turned out to be my only participation in conference as next day early morning Naveed's condition got worse and he got severe abdomen pain, diarrhea and again nose bleeding. We rushed him to hospital where he was given saline to overcome dehydration. And there they found out his BP has dropped to critical level (50/20) and he was going in Septicemia. So he was shifted to CCU and since no one from his family was here, we patients had to attend 24 hour and take care of everything talking to doctors etc. He was given necessary treatment as prescribed by Dr. Javeria and his BP came in normal range after 15 hours and he started talking and eating after 24 hours. He is still admitted there but much better. Now the only problem is his platelet count and for that, he has been already transfused 7 units of FFP factor but he still needs 5 more for now for which we are all trying to arrange blood donors. We also called his family members next day and his bro and mum flew to Lahore in the middle of night. Now they and two of my thal buddies who extended their stay there are attending him. Please pray things work out well for him.

The reason Naveed visited lahore was he was already facing issue for the past  6 months and he has continuous fever since then and all sort of lab investigation has already been done but no reason for illness was yet diagnosed. So he was trying to show all his reports to Dr Javeria and other docs for opinion and also he has been recommended splenectomy and he also wanted to discuss it with docs. He had history of nose bleeds thats why we were not that worried after his nose bleed episode in train after we reached Lahore but then we found out things were severe this time.

Thal patients who were registered in the thal center of same hospital Naveed was in, were really really supportive and I was truly amazed to see there co-operation level and also the staff and doctors were really kind and supportive. Also guys from Thal Federation of Pakistan were there all the time to help us take quick steps bypassing official requirements to speed things up.

I will post more updates as they arrive.

@Umair, thank you for supporting and being there for me while we were in stress, it really means a lot.

Keep praying all of you,
Tariq.
