I have a lot of reaction in transfusion. I do have leukacyte depleted blood, but that is normal practice in UK.

Also i used to get bad rash and temperature, so i used to have IV piriton half hour before transfusion, it knocks u out! but it really works, if u cant get IV pririton then take tablets, but i recomend IV.

Also i have stopped piriton now as i dont get rash, but i used to have blood 1 1/2-2 hours but i always get high temperature, so now they give me one unit over 3 hours and that is better for me, so maybe you should try 3 hours, apparently the slower the better, but you must finish the unit before 4 hours.

Hope that helps
