Reaction during Red Blood Transfuison

<< < (2/3) > >>

Maako:
Hi rehman,

Using leucocyte filters also greatly reduce the reactions in transfusions, as it removes white blood cells from the blood pack.. to use filter is highly recommended by a lot of doctors and you could ask your doctor if it is available :)

Rehman:
Thanks a lot Mako for you are reply.

i know about leuckocyte filter butt here is not availebal .

im living in pakistan

nice friend:
Rehman,
leucocyte filters.... hmmmmm , i think its available in Pakistan as far i remember i saw a kid having transfussion with that ( in ganga-ram hopsital , Lahore) , that is expensive ( as far i remember in 2007 its price was Rs.2500)...  my father wanted to put me on that but i refused bcoze i never had any serious  reaction to blood....2nd reason of refusing was ,,  that slow down the transfusion speed as well, the transfussion using leucocyte filter take a little more time then the normal blood transfussion (if m not wrong) the kid i saw there was 14 years old and  abt to cry to waste remained blood  as it already has been 7 hours to him and his blood was still 25% remaindered to go ..... as u know, i never b agree to stay there for that much long time ,, coze  i dont like to stay there for that much 4 hours r enough .... lolzzz

Best Regards
Take Care
Umair
