what is the general outcome for infants?? say in lauryns case? 8 mos. where do we start? HLA matching?

Hi Christine!

The sooner you do it, the better it is because of less complications due to fewer transfusion and no Liver fibrosis due to Iron overload. Plus a smaller child needs lesser amount of the precious stem cells.
