hi friends plss hellp me out.......

hi frnds i am 1 24 year old guy, from last 7-8 year i hv been feeling tired most of the time and also not gaining enough weight, hv seen many dctr till now but at last now a dctr said i may have thallasemia, my haemoglobin is arnd 12,   r.b.c. count is normal too , my m.c.v. is low 64 fl ,m.c.h. is low also 20 pg, my bilurubinh is also high around 3 direct one 0.2. and indirect one 3.0,sgpt and sgot are normal.now my dctr has tested me for thalasemia and report ill come in some days..i m surprised and shocked wht if i hv thalasemia.pls tell me shld i panic if i hv ths !

  Its nice to see you here.

  As you mentioned about not gaining enough weight, you may also have iron deficiency along with thal minor. Anyways your doctor will let you know that after goin thru your report.

hi thnx for your reply, my dctr also tested me for vitaminB12 deficiency and its low too but he thnks i may have thallasemia.... so lets c wht hppns

Hi alvisjack,

Your test results do look like it's likely to be thalassemia minor. Please don't worry a lot about this. If you are thal minor, you have been so all your life. Minor may have some symptoms but it is not life threatening and proper nutrition and supplements can help to improve the quality of your life. Please do get the B-12 test. It can cause anemia and is easily corrected.

thnxx andy, i dnt know much about thal minor..lets c wht comes in reports, i have done vitamnB12 its  on lower side but dctr said that my tiredness and not gaining weight isnt completely because of that so he has tested me for thalasemia..i ll telll u ppl soon whtcomes in reports... i m very hopeful tht this site ill help me alot, thnx fnds god bles you all

Dont panik.may b its not thalassemia as u have haemoglobin around 12 as thalassemia patients usually dont keep such high.
