mid-20's, increasing skin issues, immune system?
« on: February 24, 2017, 10:14:32 PM »
I wondered if anyone else here has a lot of skin problems? For me, it started with (seborrhoeic) eczema in my face and now some parts of my head, large parts of my breast and some parts of my genital area are covered with eczemas.

No one else in my close or extended family has skin problems on that level. I'm also the only one with a very thin and pale skin.

Could thalassemia minor weaken my immune system?

Could it just be the thin skin that is weaker against certain influences?

I'm very worried as it is becoming way too much!  :huh

I don't think there's any connection with thal. Not much shows up when you do a search for the two together. It's often found in people with allergies or asthma. I get eczema around my lips in cold weather but am able to keep it to a minimum by applying wheatgrass cream. My mother had eczema and believed it to be thyroid related. That may be the case for me, as well.

All we are saying is give thals a chance.
